A national Air Navigation System was using some military radars to provide supplementary data for air traffic control purposes, however the quality of data was steadily decreasing.

TATS personnel provided a technical system review and analysis that included a definition of the technical requirements and a review of all system components to determine the extent to which they met the requirements and reasons for the data degradation.

 

A radar installation in northern Canada
A VDF installation Some 12 technical and operational issues were identified and resolution recommendations were followed up by the client organization. The air traffic control system is now operating properly and all available data sources are in use.
